The Knee Workshop

Traditionally taught as the intro into the SOMA Training Program, The Knee serves as the foundational entry point into osteopathic principles of the body. The knee was intentionally selected as the starting point because it connects and influences the foot, ankle, hip, pelvis, and overall movement system.

In this 7-hour intensive workshop, students will learn how SOMA Training approaches joint health, movement quality, and performance through a systematic and integrated model rather than isolated exercises or muscles.

Topics include:

  • Functional anatomy and biomechanics of the knee
  • Mobility, stability, and strengthening strategies
  • Common knee dysfunctions and exercise progressions
  • Joint preservation and injury prevention principles
  • Integration of knee training into lower-body and full-body programming
  • The foundational concepts that guide all future SOMA Training courses

Because there is no ELDOA for the knee, understanding alternative methods to maintain knee health is essential. This workshop provides practical tools and a clear framework for working with one of the body’s most complex and vulnerable joints.

Ideal for trainers, therapists, movement professionals, and healthcare practitioners seeking a deeper understanding of knee function and the SOMA Training system.

ELDOA Group Class Instructor Workshop

Teaching ELDOA in a group setting requires more than simply knowing the postures—it requires the ability to assess, organize, communicate, and lead with confidence. This focused 3-hour workshop is designed to help certified ELDOA practitioners develop the skills necessary to successfully teach ELDOA classes in gyms, clinics, studios, and wellness facilities.

Participants will learn practical systems for screening clients, evaluating posture within a group environment, selecting appropriate exercises, and creating a structured class experience that delivers results while maintaining safety and effectiveness. The workshop also explores coaching and communication strategies that improve participant engagement, retention, and long-term success.

In addition to teaching methodology, students will gain insight into how to position, market, and grow ELDOA group classes as a valuable part of their professional services and business model.

What You’ll Learn

  • Client intake and group screening strategies
  • Gravity Line and postural assessments for group settings
  • Effective class formatting and sequencing
  • Coaching, cueing, and communication techniques
  • Progressions and modifications for various fitness levels
  • Building, branding, and growing successful ELDOA classes

Prerequisite

This workshop does not teach ELDOA postures. Participants must have prior ELDOA education through ELDOA Level 1 or SOMA Training education.

Whether you are preparing to teach your first ELDOA class or looking to refine your group instruction skills, this workshop provides the tools, structure, and confidence to lead with professionalism and impact.
