Course Overview

For the first time, we are bringing together SOMA Therapy (Pumping Techniques) and SOMA Training (Exercise application) into one integrated education weekend.

The Functional Shoulder is a two-day intensive workshop focused on understanding, assessing, and restoring optimal function of the shoulder complex through an integrated approach combining therapy and exercise.

This course bridges structural assessment, osteopathic treatment applications, and performance-based exercise to provide practitioners with a complete framework for evaluating and improving shoulder function.

Participants will learn how the shoulder functions within the global system, including its relationship to the thoracic spine, ribcage, pelvis, and diaphragm. It emphasizes practical application, allowing attendees to immediately implement assessment strategies, treatment techniques, and corrective exercise protocols.

This workshop is ideal for practitioners who want to deepen their understanding of shoulder mechanics and improve outcomes for both rehabilitation and performance.
