PROPRIOCEPTION & AWARENESS

Proprioception

Proprioception is the physiological system that governs joint control through a complex network of receptors located in the muscles, tendons, ligaments, and articular capsules. These receptors function as true “micro-computers,” continuously providing the nervous system with information about position, tension, and movement.

To restore, enhance, or refine joint control, these micro-computers must be specifically trained. This is essential following sprains, in the management of arthrosis, for the recovery of articular mobility, and for improving the efficiency and precision of movement.

However, proprioceptive work must be extremely precise. A joint is never trained globally—rather, a specific ligament, capsular zone, or localized structure within the joint is targeted. Understanding what to stimulate and how to stimulate it is fundamental to achieving true neuromuscular control.

In this course, you will learn hundreds of proprioceptive exercises applicable throughout the entire body, giving you a comprehensive and adaptable toolbox for clinical practice, athletic performance, and long-term joint health.

Awareness

How can a joint be trained, a muscle strengthened, or posture corrected if the brain does not recognize the area being treated? How can the spine remain straight if the sensation of alignment is inaccurate or distorted?

Awareness training addresses this essential neurological component. The cerebral cortex must be educated to identify, localize, and differentiate every region of the body. Without this cortical recognition, mechanical corrections remain incomplete and unsustainable.

This course introduces a strict and progressive methodology, based on four essential progression factors, designed to establish true body awareness. You will learn how to develop precise sensory recognition of the pelvis; the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine; and the various diaphragms of the body.

Awareness is a powerful yet often neglected component of movement education and rehabilitation. You will learn how to integrate this indispensable element into your daily practice to enhance postural correction, movement quality, and long-term functional outcomes.
