Biography:
Guy VOYER, DO was a pioneering osteopath, sports therapist, and educator whose innovative work left a lasting impact on the fields of manual medicine and holistic health. Born and raised in France, VOYER dedicated his life to understanding the complexities of the human body, developing techniques and methodologies that revolutionized physical therapy and rehabilitation.
His journey in healthcare began with an extensive education in osteopathy, earning his DO (Doctor of Osteopathy) degree, alongside additional qualifications in physical education, physiotherapy, and sports medicine. His passion for exploring the body’s mechanics led him to study under some of the most esteemed figures in osteopathy and manual therapy.
Among his many contributions, VOYER was best known for creating the ELDOA (Étirements Longitudinaux avec Decoaptation OstéoArticulaire) method—a groundbreaking system of exercises designed to decompress the spine and improve joint function. The ELDOA method gained international acclaim and became a staple for therapists, athletes, and individuals seeking to enhance their physical well-being.
In addition to ELDOA, VOYER developed several other influential therapeutic approaches, most notably SOMA Training and SOMA Therapy. These two schools of practice have become essential in the fields of manual therapy and physical training. SOMA Training focuses on advanced methods of exercise and conditioning that are deeply integrated with the body’s biomechanics, while SOMA Therapy emphasizes a holistic approach to treating injuries and chronic conditions through precise manual techniques.
