    What is ELDOA?

    ELDOA™ are postural exercises that you can do yourself with the primary goal being to increase the space within a chosen articulation. As the ELDOA “create” space, there is an improvement in joint mechanics, increased blood flow, reduced pressure on the discs, a reduction of pain, spinal disc rehydration, improved posture, and a sense of well being and awareness.

     

    The fundamental structure of our bodies, the spine, is the base of our health and our longevity. Due to its complexity and integral structure, many of our health conditions are based on improper function of the spine and surrounding joint regions. When a human experiences compression, blockages and neurological imbalances the body are looking for a way to restore. An effective solution to these are the ELDOA.

     

    For over 35 years French Osteopath Guy VOYER, DO has continued to develop and master the ELDOA and today it is one of the few techniques that effectively heal the spine. VOYER is world renowned to have mastered the treatment of fascia and how to prescribe exercises to reinforce these treatments.

     

    The ELDOA are meticulous posture formations with the intention of targeting a specific functional unit, joint region, in the body. It is a self-normalizing technique with the purpose of increasing space within an articulation. By utilizing myofascial stretching, the ELDOA combines tension with separation, also known as LOADS – Longitudinal Osteo-articular Decoaptation Stretches.

     

    Performing a posture takes only a few minutes and may also demand several factors of progression. It is imperative to build the biomechanical foundation and gradually strengthening the base to build upon. The ELDOA practitioner’s assignment is to guide the patient within each posture and maximize the normalization and effect within each ELDOA. ELDOAs performed with the guidance of a certified practitioner generates vital and sustainable performance and health benefits to the patient.

    ELDOA Level 1 is a two-day course designed to teach practitioners the most frequently used ELDOA exercises of the spine. A significant portion of ELDOA 1 is devoted to the practical application of these exercises. ELDOA Level 1 is a course for EVERYONE: exercise professionals and physical trainers, massage therapists and athletic trainers, all healthcare providers, coaches, golf and movement instructors, yoga teachers, athletic directors AND clients.

    Course Description

    The ELDOA Level 1 Education Course – The Most Frequently Used ELDOA of the Spine – is designed for anyone with minimal or NO formal training in classic spine biomechanics or descriptive anatomy. ELDOA 1 is a two-day course.

    Lecture topics include: Who is Guy VOYER, DO, The History of the ELDOA, What are the Goals of the ELDOA?, Introduction to Spine Biomechanics and the Functional Spine Unit of Junghans, and Back Pain: Treat the Symptoms vs. ELDOA: Address the Cause.

    A mastery of the anatomy and biomechanics at this level is not necessary!

Students learn the ELDOA postures of the spine from the level of L5-S1 to C2-C3 and the Factors of Progression are introduced.

    ELDOA Level 3 is the ELDOA for the coxo-femoral joint, shoulder complex, sternum and rib cage combined with the classic biomechanics for the respective regions. The ELDOA exercise for the spine will be also reviewed during this course.

    Course Description: Ribcage and Sternum, Shoulder, and Hips

    The focus of ELDOA 3 is the ribcage and sternum, shoulder complex, and coxo-femoral joint.  The first day of this course is a review of ELDOA 1 and 2.  The anatomy used is the classic descriptive anatomy of the aforementioned structures in combination with Kapandji biomechanics.

    The ELDOA postures taught include the ELDOA for the ribs and sternum, the shoulder complex, and the coxo-femoral joint,  as well as a review of the ELDOA of the spine.

    The ELDOA Intensive Course is hosted July 12-15th, 2018 with instructor Bryce Turner. In this combined course of Level 1 and 2, you will learn all the ELDOAs of the spine. There is no pre-requisite for this course. You can choose to attend ELDOA 1 only (limited spots!).

Bryce Turner

OWNER

Since 2012, Bryce Turner has been studying under the world renowned Osteopath Dr. Guy VOYER DO.  He graduated from the SomaTraining™ and  SomaTherapy™ programs in 2016.  In 2014, under the guidance and tutelage of Dr. VOYER DO, Bryce entered into the Osteopath program at Southerland University in Montréal, Canada.  Because of his advanced level, Bryce is one of a very elite few in the USA, of approved ELDOA instructors, offering educational courses for advanced level trainers, therapists, and practitioners.  He has also completed Dynamic Neuromuscular Stimulation (DNS) Sport 1 & 2 from the Prague Rehabilitation Institute. Bryce is a European/Canadian D.O of 2020.

Bryce is a statewide recognized Fitness Practitioner, Holistic Lifestyle Coach, Golf Biomechanics Specialist, personal trainer and a body worker. He is the co-founder of Beach Fitness in Seal Beach, CA, a world-class facility that provides personal training, strength and conditioning, therapeutic massage and bodywork, Pilates, yoga, nutrition, ELDOA, acupuncture and chiropractic programs. 

His gym, Beach Fitness, was named Small Business of the Year for the 35th district of Orange County in 2010 and 2011. Beach Fitness also appeared on OC’s Top 10 Hot List, and attracts many fitness enthusiasts of all ages, shapes, sizes, and levels who want to improve their overall health and fitness performance. His team of 20 trainers, coaches, and therapists deliver results to hundreds of clients weekly. Bryce held the honor title City of Seal Beach Businessman of the Year 2010.

Bryce earned his B.A. from UC Santa Cruz in Physical Anthropology.  Due to his background as an avid fitness enthusiast and athlete, he concentrated in the field of Physical Therapy and Exercise Science.  At one point, his ambition of attending physical therapy school was replaced by a more comprehensive approach to health via personal training in 2004. He is a perpetual student of life and health and continues to learn by exploring several philosophies and practices in the health and fitness industry.  His journey continued from his undergraduate experience through the CHEK Institute where he has completed certifications as an Exercise Coach, Level 3 Holistic Lifestyle Coach, Golf Biomechanics Specialist and a Level 2 Practitioner. Bryce is also a CrossFit Level 1 coach and a USA Weightlifting Performance Coach.

Bryce has excelled in training all levels of clients and professional athletes helping them improve function, strength, conditioning, and performance.  He facilitates complete and intensive fitness assessments; created Beach Fitness'® healthy lifestyle and nutrition program, and corrective therapy programs at Beach Fitness®.  His goals are to teach, motivate, and work clients to surpass their goals while reaching balance and longevity in life.

Bryce is a sought after and respected educator who travels regularly around the country for ELDOA and Soma Training education and public speaking engagements. 

He and his wife, Annika, reside in Long Beach, CA, with their three children, James, Jade, and William.
