Why ELDOA Fitness will work for you

ELDOA Fitness is the active use of reinforcement exercise movements, myofacial stretches and posture techniques which aim to increase the space between joints and lengthening the spine.

Performing the ELDOA Fitness movements as part of the overall design for your health and fitness program will help to increase your flexibility, improve muscle performance and tone, reduce stress, reduce joint inflammation, delay disc degeneration, improve posture, relieve chronic and acute back pain, relieve neck and shoulder tension,  and improve the longevity of the spine and your overall wellbeing.

A world of positive Health, Fitness and Recovery that you have never experienced before.

  • Mobility & Recovery

Myofascial release is the solution to your injury problems. The fascia is a connective tissue that helps protect your muscle tissue and tendons. Like these, though, the fascia can scar and harden due to physical trauma leaving your body susceptible to aches, pains and injuries in other areas.

Myofascial release therapy can counter this, however. Trained specialists are able to focus on this tissue, stretching and massaging it in order to assist you with other injuries. It only takes a few sessions before the effects start to be felt and the results can often be life-changing. Myofascial release can also help with headaches, posture problems and general wear and tear, leaving you in an all-round better state and getting you in the right shape and state of mind to train worry-free.

As well as feeling more limber and mobile, myofascial release will also help your blood circulation while strengthening bones and joints. It will eradicate the injuries that are holding you back, allowing you to workout harder, happier and keep on track to achieve any and all of your goals.

Intense or constant training is always going to result in some form of injury. We like to think we won’t get hurt, but odds are we will all suffer at some point. That’s why it’s essential to make sure you get the right treatment to ease your pain.

Whether you’re suffering from chronic back pain, sore joints, torn muscles, or even recovering from a broken bone, we can get you the treatment you need. We understand that an injury needs to be handled on a case-by-case basis, and a trained professional will work with you to identify the source of the pain before coming up with a custom programme that’s focused around your symptoms.

Long-standing ailments can also be a huge reason for a lack of confidence or low moral, but even these can start to ease with the right analysis and care. We will do all we can to make sure you start to feel better. Be it a pre-existing injury or a recent one, we have a range of pain treatments that will help get you back to full fitness, training the way you want to train and feeling great.

  • Injury Rehab

Everyone has to deal with injuries. Whether you’re a professional athlete or just a an avid gym goer, your body is always going to need some outside assistance to maintain or get it back into performance shape. This is where injury rehab comes into play.

Any injury needs to be examined as soon as possible: it’s imperative to the healing process. With this in mind, we will help you return to full fitness as soon as we can, rehabbing the pull, rip, tear or break suffered and putting the tools in place to make sure you’re looked after and taken care of. Our trained professionals will assess the problem and put you on a program that’s specific to your injury instead of a pre-existing regime that may not be appropriate for your needs.

From muscular strains to broken bones, we will identity the issue that’s hindering your training and put a plan in place so you can return to the gym with confidence and on the path to achieving your goals. Don’t suffer in silence. Let us nurse you back to fitness.

    Modalities include:

Osteo-Articular Joint Pumping | the cornerstone of the VOYER Paradigm.  In order for the body to heal properly either from acute or chronic dysfunction, the body must manage the inflammatory process correctly and have proper efficient flow of water and other important fluid throughout the body.  Osteo-Articular Joint Pumping techniques organize the acute inflammatory process to make its healing process more effective. It moves stagnated fluid in a chronically painful or tight joint to make it mobile and function more efficiently.

Fascial Normalization |  Therapists who possess Fascial Normalization techniques have the ability to immediately treat the severely acute patient, finalize complex soft tissue cases and restore function to the fasciae of the viscera.

Water is a major element of the fasciae. The proper flow of water (within the fibers and ground substance, within an articulation, and from one fasciae to another) is requisite for proper physiological and biomechanical function of a specific fasciae, articulation and kinetic chain. Within the collagen fibers of the fasciae, water and fluid not only flow in and around the fibers and articulations, it is constantly being linked and unlinked to the fibers themselves. This linking and unlinking is part of a physiological process known as the Primary Respiratory Mechanism.  A properly functioning PRM is one of the indicators of fascial health.

Transverse Tendinous and Ligamentous Stretching (TTLS)| Fibers, specifically collagen, are a major element of the fasciae. In a tendon, ligament or muscle, there are a larger proportion of fibers to cells. These fibers give these fasciae its tensile strength and determine their function. Specialized cells in ligaments, tendons and muscles have a sensory function giving valuable information to the central nervous system.  The higher proportion of collagen fibers and specialized sensory cells found in tendons, ligaments and muscles call for a different treatment strategy than fasciae with a lower proportion of fibers or sensory cells. TTLS is a technique that addresses the structural needs and sensory functions of tendons, ligaments and muscles.

Therapists who know TTLS techniques are able to: 1) increase vascularization of the tissues by treating tendons, ligaments and muscles, 2) choose the quality of sensory input from the tendon, ligament or muscle to the central nervous system, thereby increasing the overall quality (cells, fibers, extracellular matrix) of the tendon, ligament or muscle that is acutely or chronically injured.

Diaphragmology | Techniques to normalize the four foundational diaphragms of the body: pelvic, thoracic, cervico-thoracic and cranial. This modality explores how the presence of these four structures manages tension and compression in the head, thorax, abdomen and pelvis leading to complete tensegritous model of the body.  The course also explores how the proper management and functioning of these structures effects function of all of the viscera in relation to the diaphragms.

  • Education | ELDOA

    ELDOA 1

ELDOA 1 is an introduction to the practice of ELDOA training. In this 2 day course you will cover the anatomy and basic biomechanics of the spine. Through this you will better understand the functionality of the benefits of ELDOA. You will focus on 4 classic ELDOA positions that are used most commonly in fitness and therapy practice to help improve function & alignment of the spine, correct spinal pathologies (stenosis to herniation), and pain management. Lastly, you will learn how to apply these techniques in your practice through clinical application. It is suggested to review all spinal anatomy, basic function of the spine, and general pathologies. It is also suggested to bring case studies with you to ask questions to better learn clinical application. The goal of this course is meant to teach the fundamentals of the ELDOA practice and be able to educate in a small intimate setting to refine you skills of teaching clients and patients proper form and technique.

    Course Outline

The new ELDOA 1 course in the reformatted 6-level ELDOA program is designed for the student-practitioner with minimal or NO formal training in classic spine biomechanics or descriptive anatomy. Lecture topics include:

    • The History of the ELDOA, Guy VOYER, DO & His Educational Paradigm-“Learn by Doing”,
    • The Spine: A Complex Multi-purposeful Structure – Mobility vs. Stability
    • Introduction to Kinesiology and General Anatomy
    • Functional Spine Unit of Jungians
    • The Role of the Intervertebral Disc
    • The Medical Approach to Back Pain vs. the ELDOA
    • The Philosophy of the ELDOA, “You Are Your Own Best Therapist.”

ELDOA 1 is the foundation for the ELDOA program. A significant portion of the course is devoted to the practical application of the most commonly used ELDOA exercises. A mastery of the anatomy and biomechanics at this level is not necessary. It is more important that student-practitioners begin to think, “How is it possible to do a movement for this region?”

  • Nutrition & Lifestyle

    Nutritional Coaching

Nutrition and proper supplementation are just as important as your workouts. Without the right foods and nutrients, your body won’t be able to develop or grow, increasing the risk of hitting a training plateau and stop progressing. This can lead to decreased motivation and, worst of all, you giving up entirely.

Our nutrition and supplementation programs can educate you about what foods to eat and what products to take, keeping you on-track with your workouts and feeling great. Having this knowledge will help you with your day-to-day life as well - you’ll have more confidence about what you should and shouldn’t consume and which supplements will have a serious impact on your training. Whether it’s whey protein, creatine, amino acids or glutamine, understanding what these are and how they affect you will keep you strong both in mind and in body.

Knowing the ins and outs of nutrition and supplementation will teach you how to train smarter and ensure you continue on the path to success. Feel great, hit your goals and get in the best shape of your life, all with the most powerful tool of all: knowledge!

It’s not always easy to make the healthy choice even when we know that’s the right choice to make. Many decisions we make during our day-to-day we know to be detrimental, and yet it can be difficult to break such habits and make a change for the better. This isn’t helped by the sheer amount of information out there, a lot of which can be overwhelming.

With all this mind, having a trained, educated professional to act as your source of information, coach and motivator can be a genuine life-changer. A counselor such as this can help manage your stress and make recommendations specific to what you need. Why trawl through advice that may not be the answer when a qualified doctor can work with you to guarantee results and establish goals that ensure long term health and wellbeing?

    Life Coaching

Whether you’re feeling depressed, have issues relating to a stressful job, chronic health problems or low self esteem, stress management and lifestyle counseling can drastically improve your outlook so you can start feeling like yourself again. No one should suffer alone and there are people out there ready to help. We can help start you on that process.

My best performance yet…” I wish to tell you the stretching class is adding great value to my weekly routine. This morning on the water was possibly the best performances on 3 minute pieces that I’ve yet to experience. Thanks for understanding that I am tightly wound together, the new stretching hurts like nothing else but it pays off big time. It’s working, what you did has allowed me to give up the toxic medicine today that masks over nerve pain. No more sharp muscle pains. Tomorrow, I plan to paddle alone at warm up EZ pace to feel my way back. I’ll keep you posted and thanks a million for your prompt scheduling and very physical approach to therapy.
